Atlanta Insurance Live 18: We visit Turner Field!

Atlanta Insurance Live 18: We visit Turner Field!

This afternoon I had the pleasure of taking a tour of Turner Field, where the Atlanta Braves play!  It was a great experience seeing all the history, getting down on the field, and giving it an insurance spin! Today we look at what home renovations do to your home or business insurance policy!

*please note, that at the time of filming I was unaware that Ted Turner no longer owns the stadium… I knew he sold the team, but I thought he  still had the stadium.  I will formulate a new plan to get to the right decision maker so I can provide a competitive quote on this fine facility!  Stay tuned….

Atlanta Insurance Live 16: New Media Atlanta

Atlanta Insurance, Atlanta Auto Insurance

Last week I had the experience of going to the New Media Atlanta Conference held at Georgia Tech.  The conference was put together by friends Brad Nix and Matt Fagioli, and was designed to take a close look at the way businesses are using social media (facebook, twitter, etc.) for business and customer service.  Chris Brogan (best-selling author and founder of New Marketing Labs) was the keynote speaker (scroll to the bottom of this page to watch his entire presentation), and the event had a full lineup of representatives from many large companies, a few of the most notable including Turner Broadcasting and Newell Rubbermaid.  The main topic of discussion was the way these companies are incorporating social media into their business strategies to build deeper communication channels with customers.

I had intentions of capturing a lot of footage to upload here on Atlanta Insurance Live! and I did capture some, but I realized that others captured the event much better than I could… after all, I’m just an insurance agent.  Below you will find a few different videos from the conference, and I’ve also added a link so you can watch the entire conference if you’re really curious!  I’ve even created a BackNoise channel called AtlantaInsuranceLive if you want to give me your opinions about how I am using social media for my business… and I know you have an opinion!

Below is a short video that I put together.  I may win an award for Best Director… we’ll see.  I wanted a few friends to get their shout-outs, and I found it powerful how Shaun King and Hope Atlanta are using social media to help flood victims.

Below are two additional clips from friend Steve Burns, covering highlights of the event.  Great job here Steve!

Run Level Media did an outstanding job capturing Chris Brogan’s moment on stage…

And of course… follow this link if you want to see the entire conference.

Atlanta Insurance Live 14: Our visit to the Australian Bakery on Marietta Square

Atlanta Insurance, Atlanta Life Insurance, and the Australian Bakery!

If you are ever on Marietta Square on a Tuesday, be sure to stick around for the bluegrass music at the Australian Bakery. Every Tuesday night crowds gather and the music grows all around you! Last night was the first time we went and we had a blast! There were three large groups playing together, one inside and two outside. There was a huge gathering of listeners in the front. It was so cool to see these musicians gather together and watch as more would just come join in the playing at will, without missing one beat! As a guitar player… I think I’m gonna have to learn some of their songs and join in sometime!!

Visit these links for more info: The Australian Bakery Cafe and Aussie Bluegrass Bakery Blog

This was my daughter’s first live music experience so that made it even more special for us!

Here is my video update of our experience and some (rather awkwardly inserted – but helpful!!!) information on the difference between term life and whole life insurance!

Atlanta Insurance Live 13: Just Do It

Atlanta Insurance Live! Auto, Home, Life, and Business Insurance – Done differently!

I wanted to share a little about me with you and how/why I started this project.  I want to encourage anyone wanting to start a business, blog, project (whatever you want to call it) to just do it.  I talk to a lot of people all the time who have great ideas and big goals but they never take the first step.  That first step feels more like a jump, but if you don’t jump you’re only going to remain in a stand still.  There are endless opportunities and niches out there to break into… so just go do it!

Here is the link I reference in the video: Unemployed Graduate in Sandwich Board Job Hunt

And while I’m thinking about motivation, the video below is something I have referred to many times since first seeing the story air on the 2005 Espy Awards on ESPN. Whenever I think I have huge challenges, I watch this and it puts it all into perspective. Sandwich-board guy’s story and my story don’t even compare to this. In fact it is such a good story that it doesn’t really belong on the same page with Sandwich-board guy and me, but I’ve included it anyway. We’ve got it super easy… my guess is that you do too. But that’s the point of me sharing this with you. Stop what you’re doing right now and go make “it” happen!

Atlanta Insurance Live 11: Under My Umbrella

Atlanta Insurance Live! Umbrella Policies and Liability Insurance!

Today’s update is about Umbrella policies, which offer individuals and businesses an extension of their standard liability insurance. Normally, they are set at $1 million in coverage, but you can also get policies with even higher limits if you need more coverage. They are typically very affordable; at or below $200/year for a personal policy and $500/year and less for a business umbrella.
